Thomas Grosjean & Joan Roig, 2 engineering students from the Arts et Métiers Aix-en-Provence campus will participate in the 6th edition of the "Solar and Energy Boat Challenge" in Monaco from 2nd to 6th July 2019, which will bring together 26 student teams from around the world.
Their team called "HydroGadz" was created by 4 students of Arts et Métiers.
The "Solar and Energy Boat Challenge" is a challenge where students develop alternative propulsion systems, using only clean energy sources to power the yachting of tomorrow. A real technological challenge to meet the energy needs of the leisure boat and shipping industries and the accompanying and environmental prerogatives.
The Arts et Métiers Foundation will support Thomas & Jean, who won the innovation award of the best associative project award organised by PEYMPA in April for their boat prototype.
The challenge not only develops technology skills, but also strong professional skills in order to federate a real professional network around their project. Companies quickly became interested in their project by providing financial support and partnerships.
"We are convinced that Hydrogen is the energy of our future, it does count a lot for us to work for its democratization. That’s why we want to participate to the energy boat challenge" said Thomas Grosjean.
