Chambery Institute
Housed at the Savoie Technolac technology park at Le Bourget-du-Lac, the Chambery Institute is committed to taking account of the requirements of sustainable development as early as the design stage for manufactured products. This geographical choice, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, was made thanks to the presence of skills in this field and the proximity of cross-border partners.
The circular economy in supporting industrial development
The Institute’s research team relies on the i2m laboratory in Bordeaux and the LCPI laboratory in Paris. Its role is to study the integration of the different environmental aspects related to product development and industrialisation over the life cycle of an industrial or consumer product and to convert this integration into innovation factors in all industrial sectors (mobility, transportation, electrical/electronics, mechanical, sports/recreation and building).
A message from the Deputy Director General
"Attached to the Directorate General, the Chambery Institute plays a key role in the research and training objectives of Arts et Métiers: controlling the entire product life cycle, from design to recycling. Reflecting the institution’s other institutes, it aims to meet the demands of the economic world on a specific theme. For example, the partnerships developed with the Institut National de l’Énergie Solaire [National Solar Energy Institute] (INES) enable new lines of research and academic programmes to be envisaged. The Bachelor's degree in technology at this site, at the request of industrialists, may be offered in the future at the Institute’s Chambery site. » Alexandre Rigal, Deputy Director General of Arts et Métiers
