MOOC Massive Open Online Courses
Distance learning: a rapidly growing offer
Arts et Métiers develops online training courses focused on its areas of expertise and intended for different audiences.
Distance learning frees individuals from time and place constraints. It enables them to learn at their own pace, while the diverse activities – videos, case studies, participants' discussion forums, quizzes, etc. – contribute to learning quality.
Lines of innovation for professionals
The Arts et Métiers teaching staff have set up e-learning programmes for professionals: innovative courses related to the institution's expertise.
This applies to the Eco-design course: from environmental assessment to environmental improvement, designed by the Institut de Chambéry, which specialises in this field, in collaboration with the Institut national de l’énergie solaire (INES).
Promoting skills enhancement
Arts et Métiers also deploys MOOCs (massive open online courses), which are offered to a wider public and are completely free of charge.
The first two training courses offered dealt with themes of importance for industry: one was dedicated to eco-design and the other to deformable solids mechanics. These two training courses attracted a wide audience, with several thousand participants.
